  • Why should I hire Rivelin Consultants?
The development and construction of projects are complex undertakings - we're interested in helping you to understand and guide you through all the relevant steps. In most cases, there can be many different approaches to getting your project up and running, and we have decades of experience in knowing what to look for, consideration of viable alternatives and navigating through the potential obstacles that could arise. We are also committed to being up-front with Clients, both in the way we are engaged, and in the way that we go about executing your requirements. We endorse the old-school habit of being straight and to-the-point, so you won't have any sudden or unexpected surprises halfway through your project. We know that this is the tried and tested way to foster an environment of trust and openness.
  • What do your services cost?
Since every single project is different, we can only provide a cost when we get specific details from the Client. That way, you can be assured that the solution we offer is exactly customised for your matter. We feel that it's always better for use to meet and understand exactly what you're looking for, and then build a proposal specifically tailored for you and your requirements. That way, you don't pay for anything you don't need. Call or message us for a discussion to get the ball rolling!
  • Why would I need a project manager?
Think about a project manager as your dedicated advisor who helps you navigate through the intricacies of the engineering and construction process. As your project manager, we have a responsibility to make sure that everything that occurs under your project is done so to the highest standards and cost effectiveness. We advise you on matters of cost, local and international standards, what to look for with contractors, and how to get the best out of material purchasing as examples. Your project doesn't have to be massive to warrant the use of a project manager - we manage from the smallest house extension through to large infrastructure developments.
  • What's the difference between a Civil or Structural Engineer and an Architect?
We get this question a lot. In simple terms, the engineering aspects of any project relate to the technical capability of a building, for example, to stay up and remain relatively undamaged during normal usage and in extreme events such as earthquakes and hurricanes. The same goes for work such as retaining walls where the engineering needs to be robust enough to withstand the loading of the soil backfill, drainage and any nearby loads caused by traffic or even an adjacent building's foundations. The architecture aspect of a building relates to the aesthetics, how the occupants interact with the spaces and the flow of people within it, and also to ensure that environmentally the building is comfortable and fit-for-purpose. There is naturally some overlap between the two professions, and this is why a design team is usually formed to provide our Clients with an overall solution to their requirements.
